Only 20 minutes away from Times Square by the N, R or W, the R train will take you straight to Steinway Street where you will find literally everything ranging from ethnic restaurants, cafes, gyms, and shopping facilities.
One of the most appreciated destinations is Astoria Park, a haven for sports enthusiasts. The park is a perfect location for a stroll after that wonderful dinner. Tennis courts, multiple trails and all kinds of outdoor activities attract visitors from all places. Oh, while at the park, you can also check out the stunning view on the edge of the East River between the Triborough Bridge and Hell Gate Bridge. Get yourself that unique instagram pic!

There is a couple of Japanese grocery stores, and a lot of cafe/restaurants in front of the nearest station. The street is busy, but it is quiet and a safe neighborhood. I would personally recommend this area since this area can acquire most of your everyday needs.
