Harlem Apt #18
Central Harlem is now a thriving mix of cultural treasures and avant-garde creativity.
The area is also known for being a turning point of American jazz, literature, and civil rights history.
Meanwhile, venues such as The Apollo Theater, Hotel Theresa are favorites among both locals and visitors alike.
Our recommendation is Abyssinia, the go-to Ethiopian in the area.
It has all the popular flavors like onion, poppyseed, and sesame and other endless choices of spreads.
The spreads include the usual stuff like the cream cheese and lox, but you need to go beyond that.
There a lot of choices for vegans here. They have spreads made from Tofutti. I had a sesame bagel with herb Tofutti on it.
This is about $5 for a large bagel and a massive amount of Tofutti.
Absolute Bagels is another must-go destination: the chickpeas, firey berbere lentils and collard greens is considered the most flavorful dish in the house.
Please stop by if you have a chance!!
